Job Summary

Trane is hiring for an Automation Engineer in Newberry, SC! Our plant is growing, and this role will develop, deploy, maintain, and improve the technical and administrative processes of the manufacturing line, capital equipment, and test equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and implement the vision for digital infrastructure in a world class manufacturing facility.

  • Identify and effectively facilitate data acquisition for First Pass Yield improvements and DPU.

  • Technical expert for the product PLC, hardware, testing processes, and controls.

  • System creation of visual controls and data presentation to indicate non-conformances of the manufacturing efficiencies in real time.

  • Interact with product management, engineering, and customer service to ensure customers have a world class experience.

  • Develop solutions to capture data of test stand processes, control of test stand equipment, and testing of sub-assemblies with quality at the source.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

  • Experience and understanding of automation, controls, data acquisition, and instrumentation hardware and software.

  • Design or application experience, thermodynamics, heat transfer, controls, electrical power and compressor technology (HVAC preferred).

  • Experience or familiarity with AHRI and/or other standards such as ASHRAE, ASME, etc.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

  • Experience in Access, Tableau, or Alteryx and SharePoint are a plus.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal company and external associates, both written and orally.
