Job Title/Position: Direct Care Worker Coordinator Reports To: Office Manager DIRECT CARE WORKER COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The Direct Care Worker Coordinator oversees the Direct Care Worker Program personnel ensuring the training, competency, scheduling, and compensation of Direct Care Workers. The Coordinator works with clinical staff to ensure appropriate supervision of Direct Care Workers and facilitates conferences with Arizona Long Term Care System Case (ALTCS) Management. Additionally, the Coordinator is responsible for hiring, orienting, and counseling Direct Care Workers. DIRECT CARE WORKER COORDINATOR ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES Establishes and maintains a professional relationship with current and potential referral sources and case managers Establishes and maintains a professional relationship with co-workers Accurately tracks and maintains schedules and availability of Direct Care Workers Communicates with Direct Care Workers concerning scheduling changes Reviews Direct Care Workers\' time sheets to ensure timely submission and accuracy of documentation Is available on an on-call basis outside of normal business hours for needs associated with the Direct Care Worker Program Maintains accurate census of clients Coordinates with the Clinical Supervisor to assign staff to ensure in-home oversight of Direct Care Workers Ensures authorization is obtained in advance for provision of all services Ensures that services provided are within the parameters of authorizations Maintains records documenting the training and testing of Direct Care Workers Assists the functions of billing and care management through timely and accurate data entry Ensures compliance with Direct Care Worker Training and Testing guidelines Completes the Non-provision of Services Log and submits it to ALTCS/DDD in a timely fashion. Attends job fairs as invited to assist Recruiter, interviews and carries through hiring procedures with Human Resources. Performs other duties as assigned DIRECT CARE WORKER COORDINATOR POSITION QUALIFICATIONS High School diploma or equivalent required. Prior scheduling work experience, prior medical field experience preferred. Bilingual Required. Prior management or supervision experience required. Knowledge of home health benefits and services. Demonstrates excellent communications and interpersonal relationship skills. Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
