The Certified Seasonal Ground Maintenance / Custodial Services position performs maintenance duties on the Campus grounds and related equipment and interior cleaning and maintenance. One of the open positions will have a greater focus on the principles of horticulture working within our main campus. The other open position will have a greater focus on sports turn, event setup, and coordination where a background in turf management will benefit. Both are critically detail oriented. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) union represented position. Typical Grounds Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. approximately April 15 through October 15. Typical Custodial Services Schedule: Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM. approximately October 15 through April 15. Primary Grounds duties include: Maintenance and improvement of College grounds including turf, landscape plantings and structures, walks, roads, and athletic fields on a seasonal basis. Maintenance, accurate record keeping of service intervals, and routine trouble shooting and repair of related equipment. Identify needs for periodic and major equipment repair and maintenance. Primary Custodial duties include: Perform all cleaning procedures required of area to include locking and unlocking interior/exterior doors, vacuum and spot carpet and fabric furniture, inventory management and maintain safety, cleanliness, proper storage and use of equipment, vehicles, and personal safety equipment. Acquire and maintain knowledge of job-related chemicals, proper labeling and environmental health and physical concerns.
