Boston Government Services is seeking a Piping Engineer to support Y12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tn which provides integral mission support to the NNSA.

Responsibilities:

• Provide CNS, Mission Engineering with piping design engineering support for facility and production area activities in Cat 2 and Cat 3 facilities.

• Provide design output documentation to support minor facility modifications. The types of design output documents typically developed by a piping design engineer within the Mission Engineering organization are drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, etc.

• Develop designs in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1.

• Work with other engineering disciplines and other plant organizations to produce timely design output.

• Perform field walk-downs and work in a production environment.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.

• Requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.

• Familiarity with and experience in developing designs in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1.

• Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees.

• Must be US citizen.

• Successful drug screening.

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 20 plus years of relevant professional experience.

• A Professional Engineering License (PE).

• An Active Q Clearance.

• Experience in an NRC or DOE regulated environment.
