Manages the operational proficiency of our third party claims administrator to assure benefits are fairly disbursed to our injured workers while minimizing expense to our organization. Makes independent decisions within company and industry standards in working with our third party administrator to strategize the proper handling from inception to conclusion of more difficult Workers Compensation claims. Represents our organization at MSC or board hearings around the nation when required. Develops and Implements Field Training Programs that teaches our branches how to deal with injured workers and properly implement our Return to Work and modified duty programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assure that our TPA informs our injured employees of their workers’ compensation benefits or potential benefits they are entitled to within their state’s Labor Code.
Assure Claims are handled to Statutory standards in their respective States.
Mitigate workers’ compensation costs within the jurisdictions she has oversight on without jeopardizing employee entitlements.
Monitor and manage the claims adjusters and claims support vendor’s business judgment in order to achieve positive outcomes for the claimant and for the company.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Attend Workers Compensation Hearing Nationwide
Provide guidance and direction to Defense Attorneys and Third-Party Administrator claims
Provides Workers Compensation training to field personnel of our Temporary Staffing Division
Participates in California legal file reviews
Evaluates TPA performance at quarterly file reviews
Evaluates workers compensation claim exposures and provides settlement authority to Third Party Administrator and defense counsel
Coordinate/collaborate with Human Resources Department overlapping Workers Compensation and H/R exposures
Roundtables at Monthly Staff meetings to discuss claims trends and prevention.
*Position Qualifications * Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
5+ years experience with employee, employer and Third Party Administrators roles and relationships
WCCP (Workers Compensation Claims Professional) designation preferred
Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge of Workers Compensation Claims Administration
Knowledge of “Return to Work” programs
Good Analytical Skills; a “Problem Solver”
Ability to Multi-task in a challenging atmosphere
Outgoing and approachable
Easily work in a high-performance team environment
Strong Customer Service Skills
