Position Overview:

EDC is looking for a dynamic and motivated emergency management and/or business continuity student to support the Business Continuity Management Program (BCMP) on the Business Enablement team.

The BCMP is a cyclical program that delineates and describes all activities related to business continuity within the organization. Each phase has elements that strengthen the ability of EDC and its employees to prepare to respond to disruptions and mitigate risk.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Collaborate in the design and roll out of a training and awareness program

  • Support the development and execution of BCMP exercises

  • Assist in data analysis, including producing reports and PowerPoint presentations to display the data

  • Supporting the construction and maintenance of a structured and repeatable reporting system, dashboards and SharePoint site

  • Contribute to designing and defining requirements of a BCM tool

  • Support various initiative communications and stakeholder relationships

  • Actively participate in the advancement and maturity of all aspects of the Program

Our ideal candidate:

  • A Student enrolled in an Emergency Management and/ or Business Continuity program

  • Experience in exercise design and development

  • Proficiency in PowerBI, Sharepoint or ServiceNow is an asset

  • Has previous work term experience related to their field of study

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Motivated self-starter, good organizational and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently and within a team

  • Enthusiasm to tackle any task, whether menial or complex

  • Knowledge of both official languages is an asset
