A Composite Structural Technician job is available with our client in San Jose, CA. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. In this role you will be responsible for hands-on fabrication, repair, and assembly of composite structures. To be considered for this role, you will have a High School Diploma or GED and 5+ years" experience in aircraft structure, manufacturing, and fabrication.

Two shifts: 6:00am - 2:30pm (first) and 3:00pm - 11pm (second)

Composite Structural Technician Job Duties:

  • Demonstrate hands-on experience in the fabrication, repair, and assembly of composite structures.

  • Proficient use of tools and equipment specific to composite materials, such as vacuum bagging, autoclaves, and precision measuring instruments.

  • In-depth understanding of various composite materials, resins, and fibers.

  • Ability to select appropriate materials based on project requirements and specifications.

  • Perform inspections and quality control checks on composite structures to ensure adherence to design specifications and industry standards.

  • Non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques for composite materials.

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications related to composite structures.

  • Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines during all stages of composite structure fabrication, ensuring a safe working environment.

  • Communicating and collaborating skills closely with engineers, designers, and other team members in a start-up project environment.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to composite structure fabrication and assembly.

  • Efficient organizational skills to manage work tasks, meet deadlines, and contribute to project timelines.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in project requirements and willingness to learn and apply new techniques and technologies in composite materials.

  • Accurate record-keeping to document processes, changes, and inspection results.

  • Carrying and lifting up to 10-35 pounds.

  • Inspecting your own work quality and checking for FOD ( foreign object debris).

Composite Structural Technician Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Ability to adhere to high standards of Safety and Compliance to regulatory requirements.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in aircraft structure, manufacturing, and fabrication.

  • Experience with aircraft assembly processes and procedures.

  • Experience using software applications such as emailing, internet navigation, model base

definition understanding, microsoft suite and other specialized software

  • Knowledge of FAA aircraft certification requirements for Part 23 aircraft.

  • Composite repair, installation and maintenance.

  • New product development experience.

  • Additional certifications in composite materials or relevant industry standards, such as those

offered by the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA).

  • Knowledge of aerospace-specific standards and requirements for composite structures.

  • Specialized training in advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques specific to composite

materials.

  • Understanding of sustainable practices in composite manufacturing, showcasing awareness of

the environmental impact of materials and processes.
