Advanced Technology Services IT Training Supervisor in Peoria, Illinois

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop IT training programs that align with organizational goals, technology advancements, and individual learning needs. Create a curriculum that covers system features and role-based activities across various organizational areas.

  • Conduct engaging training sessions, workshops, and webinars to impart technical knowledge and skills to employees. Utilize a variety of training methods, such as hands-on exercises, simulations, and interactive presentations, to ensure effective learning outcomes.

  • Collaborate with business leaders and department heads to identify skill gaps and training needs within the organization. Regularly assess the effectiveness of training initiatives and adjust programs as necessary.

  • Develop comprehensive training materials, including manuals, guides, online resources, and multimedia content, to support the learning process and provide ongoing reference materials.

  • Provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring to team members, offering guidance in their career development and encouraging continuous improvement. Prepares performance evaluations, works with individuals on career planning, training, and skills development. Ensures compliance with hourly work rules. Provides input into hiring/termination decisions.

  • Monitor the progress of learners throughout their training journey and maintain training records to track individual growth and overall program success. Continually improves processes; quantitatively monitors processes.

  • Keep abreast of the latest IT trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure the training program remains relevant and up-to-date.

  • Collaborate with IT managers and other relevant stakeholders to communicate training opportunities, progress, and outcomes effectively. Develops and maintains business relationships with all ATS departments.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), & Competencies:

Essential KSAs:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college; or equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Advanced degrees or certifications in training and development are a plus.

  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience or demonstrated ability to successfully supervise people and customer relations.

  • Proven experience in IT training or relevant roles, with a solid understanding of IT concepts, tools, and methodologies.

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage learners at various skill levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage training projects and deliver results within established timelines.

  • Strong organizational skills to handle multiple training initiatives simultaneously, self-motivated and able to prioritize.

  • Familiarity with learning management systems and e-learning platforms is advantageous, must have comprehensive computer skills.

Desirable KSAs:

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse teams and individuals.

  • Proficient in the Windows operating environment and the following software: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; and talk or hear. The employee is also required to use a telephone with headset for verbal troubleshooting, frequent use of a standard keyboard and computer to document calls in a ticketing system, and occasional use of other office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 30 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to sit for long periods and use close and color vision. Work is typically performed in a moderately noisy business office.
