DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Accounting Specialist Unit Supervisor for the Division of Financial Operations, Accounting Administration. This position is responsible for the Accounts Payable views and approves work products of subordinate staff in the AZ360 and Arizona Procurement Portal (APP), verifying proper preparation and accuracy of accounts payable transactions by comparing original invoice, purchase order, and receiver, and ensuring responsibility for safeguarding public monies.\ \ This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (one day per week in the office/hoteling).\ \ The State of Arizona strives for a work culture that affords employees flexibility, autonomy, and trust. Across our many agencies, boards, and commissions, many State employees participate in the States Remote Work Program and are able to work remotely in their homes, in offices, and in hoteling spaces. All work, including remote work, should be performed within Arizona unless an exception is properly authorized in advance.

Supervises a team of Accounting Specialists.\ Reviews and approves financial transactions of staff in AZ360 and APP for timely and accurate processing.\ Trains, mentors, and assists in staff development, including problem-solving and decision-making.\ Interacts with procurement and business staff and vendors to resolve payment problems and ensures that payments for goods and services are processed accurately and in a timely manner.\ Confers with auditors, staff members, and representatives from other Divisions to acquire information needed for immediate determinations or decisions.
