U-Haul Print Advertising Project Coordinator in Phoenix, Arizona

Under the direction of the President of U-Haul, responsible for developing and coordinating all advertising, promotion, packaging programs for U-Haul products and services. Investigate and use appropriate media, such as signs, brochures, consumer advertising, and other resources to accomplish specific objectives and goals. Establish and maintain an effective liaison between U-Haul Marketing and Art Department staff.

  • Analyze and develop the advertising, promotion, packaging needs for U-Haul products and services. Use good principles of advertising and promotion with respect to cost, resources, competition, vendors, media, trends, etc.

  • Coordinate the development of ideas and programs with the creative, production, and media staffs.

  • Assist the President in the presentation of ideas and programs to U-Haul management. Ensure that all projects and programs are consistent with U-Haul objectives, standards and strategies.

  • Assist in the development of system internal communications, such as; bulletins, flyers, mailers and posters for implementation of U-Haul advertising, promotion, and packaging.

  • Prepare project assignment forms for instructional use within the Art department reflecting the objectives and parameters of each project. Document projects for reference.

  • Maintain effective and continuous liaison between U-Haul management and Art department staff by means of program reports and /or personal communications.

  • Keep abreast of trends and developments in the advertising industry as well as the Moving & Self-Storage industries.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of projects on a regular basis, recommend necessary modifications or cancellations.

  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned by the President of U-Haul.

Since 1945, U-Haul has been serving do-it-yourself movers and their households. Like many other successful ventures, the concept for U-Haul was generated out of need. After World War II, there existed the widespread need for do-it-yourself moving equipment that would be available on a one-way, nationwide basis. U-Haul co-founders L.S. "Sam" Shoen and his wife, Anna Mary Carty Shoen, recognized that need and acted upon it. Their visionary approach spread the cost of ownership among many users, facilitating the mobility of the populations of the U.S. and Canada. The covered wagon of the pioneers morphed into orange U-Haul trailers. In the process, an industry was born.
