Postdoctoral Research Fellow or Research Associate - Fuchs Laboratory Available Title(s): 306-YN_FACULTY - Postdoctoral Research Associate Business Title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow or Research Associate - Fuchs Laboratory Employee Type: Faculty (+) (Fixed Term) Time Type: Full time Position Term: 12 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties: Successful candidates will conduct NIH funded research on the neurobiological link between drug memories and drug relapse. Studies will map neuronal microcircuits, or engrams, that encode drug memories, phenotype engram cells, and examine adaptations in these microcircuits that correspond to changes in memory strength. Experiments will utilize a combination of in vivo optogenetics, fiber photometry, immunohistochemistry, ex vivo optogenetics, slice electrophysiology, and a novel translational model of cocaine relapse. Fellows will receive technical and theoretical training relevant for the project and strong support as they develop extramural research proposals and independent projects. Required Qualifications: • Applicants must possess a Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience or a related field, strong written and oral communication skills, and a demonstrated record of accomplishments. • For Postdoctoral position less than five years of research experience since receipt of the doctoral degree. • For Research Associate position more than five years of research experience since the receipt of the doctoral degree. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
