Microsoft Corporation Director of Business Development in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft’s 1st party devices (including Surface , Surface Hub , Xbox and HoloLens) are an essential part of our transformation to a Mobile First, Cloud First company. The Microsoft Devices Services organization is responsible for delivering repair experiences at right performance levels (Return for exchange, Same Unit Repair, In-Field Repair models), enabling sales growth through Complete and Out-of-Warranty sales, and leading the industry in repairability and sustainability efforts with our future product roadmap.

The business team within Devices Services is looking for a Director of Business Development to drive our Devices Paid Services (Protection Plans, Out of Warranty and Spare Parts) business growth and strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategy and execution plan to drive Devices Paid Services business growth.

  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to enhance Devices Paid Services.

  • Analyze market trends, competition, and customer needs to inform business development strategies.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align business objectives and ensure successful execution.

  • Drive revenue growth through innovative business development approaches.

  • Build and maintain impactful relationships with external partners and key stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 8+ years' work experience in program management, process management, process improvement

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ Years experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or related roles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, plus a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field and 10+ Years relevant experience (e.g.: product management, strategy consulting, business/corporate development, or business strategy)

  • Experience in the Service contract, insurance, consumer technology services, or related fields.

  • Understanding of the technology industry and market dynamics.

  • Excellent leadership and negotiation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • Strategic thinker with a track record of successful business development initiatives.

Business Program Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $266,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $292,200 per year.
