Providence St. Joseph Health Senior Division Director Infection Prevention in Richland, Washington

Description This position must be based in Richland, WA, Spokane, WA , Portland, OR or Lubbock, TX. THE ROLE The Senior Division Director Infection Prevention is an Infection Prevention expert. The Senior Divison Director Infection Prevention is the direct supervisor for local and divisional level infection prevention caregivers and responsible for infection prevention across the continuum. All Senior Division Director Infection Preventionists (IPs) are accountable for implementation of and compliance with policies, practices, and processes of the infection prevention program at the facility, region, division and system level. In collaboration with the IP leadership, IP medical director, and IP peers, all IPs will follow all current local, state, and federal guidelines, standards, and regulations. Infection Preventionists provide infection prevention consultative services focused on providing the highest quality care at the lowest cost to patient and organization. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responsible for oversight of all infection prevention programs within the region/division or service line. The Senior Director will oversee a division or service line, which will require strategic planning and collaboration across multiple complex care settings. In alignment with system priorities, strategically develop goals for the program and carries out plan, cascades goals to others. Facilitates creation and approvals of policies and procedures. Provides strategically relevant data and information to service line or divisional leadership teams. HR work such as hiring, evaluation, compensation, and time approval (people management). Oversees orientation and training of new manager or senior manager hires. Identifies and follows up on opportunities for staff mentorship and development. Create and lead committees and their structures. Oversee execution of program goals, prioritize work and sponsor projects. Facilitates divisional or service line standardization. Identifying and escalating opportunities for system level standardization. Responsible for division or service line level infection prevention decision making. Manage the budget for the department including approval of expense reports and purchasing supplies. Strategic planning and situational awareness for emergency preparedness related to emerging pathogens and novel pathogens. Collaboration with relevant Clinical Institutes. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Lab Sciences, Microbiology, Nursing, Public Health, Related health sciences field; or equivalent educ/experience. Master's Degree in Lab Sciences, Microbiology, Nursing, Public Health, Related health sciences field; or equivalent educ/experience (preferred). Upon hire: Certification Infection Control Preferred upon hire: FAPIC Within 2 years of hire: FAPIC 10 or more years of quality and patient safety experience or other directly related healthcare experience. 6 years of Infection Prevention or Epidemiology experience 8 years of Leadership experience Ability to analyze information gathered by investigation, and report findings and recommendations. Demonstrated ability to elicit, analyze and communicate business requirements from multiple customers across disparate functions. Broad knowledge and understanding of the trends and changes taking place in healthcare. Ability to prioritize responsibility and to organize workload to ensure that timeframes are met and the work is successfully completed within deadlines. Demonstrated skills in project plan design and implementation; directing projects, coordinating the work of operational teams and managing project budgets.
