Calibration/Field Technician I

Job Description and Responsibilities

This is technical services work basic repairing, testing/troubleshooting and calibrating speed

measuring equipment. Employee uses approved methods and techniques to repair, test and

calibrate speed measuring devices. Work is performed by self-motivated individuals under

limited supervision and most often on-site at customer location (travel in this position is

required weekly, including over nights and out of state). Valid State of Maine Drivers

License and good driving record is necessary (3 year drivers record check required).

Essential duties and responsibilities include: (The listed examples may not include all of the

duties that may be assigned)

Tests, calibrates and certifies speed measuring devices in order to ensure they are within

specification required FCC regulations.

Maintains accurate documentation.

Installation and repair of speed measuring devices and in-car video systems for TMDEs

customers on-site and in facility.

Desired Skills & Experience

Educational/Experience Requirements:

Previous experience in electronics preferred (or equivalent related experience).

Training provided.

Other Skills and Abilities

Excellent customer service skills.

Knowledge of basic laboratory/calibration techniques.

Knowledge of office and record-keeping practices and procedures/computer skills.

Ability to write accurate, clear and comprehensive calibration and repair worksheets.

Ability to test speed measuring devices using appropriate SOP practices.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing skills.

Pay: Commensurate with experience/knowledge/training and *overnight status pay differential (once

training is completed). (COLAs occasionally provided).

Other Benefits: Out of New England area pay differential, personal leave, paid holidays, overtime

occasionally available, 3-day weekends most weeks (optional).
