Summary: The operator will be responsible for setting up, adjusting and operating a rotary horizontal wheel surface grinder and other surface grinders to grind flat or irregular surfaces to close tolerances and impart required finish.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Set-up and operate various surface grinding machines.
• Read and interpret router, blueprints, planning sheets, sketches and related technical data to determine requirements, fixture set-up procedures, control setting and machining methods and sequences.
• Plan operating procedures on rotary wheel-type grinder and other grinders to grind flat surfaces; select abrasive wheels, change wheel segments and dress wheels, set wheel and table feeds, use magnetic table and chucks or claimp and secure single or multiple work piece setups; calibrate machine adjusting devices.
• Verify jobs have proper jigs and fixture.
• Mount, align and secure tooling, attachments and work piece.
• Start up machine and monitor display operations.
• Verify dimension of finished work peice to conformance with print specifications.
• Manually adjust machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all safety, quality, work rules and regulations.

Hours: 40 M-F Day, Evening, and Night
