Job Description SUMMARY: The School Accountability Specialist drives the vision for assessments at multiple Texas schools and is the key coordinator of their assessment programs and related data. Assessments may include internal benchmarking, state assessments, diagnostic assessments, grade report data, student-level objective data and other data used to measure the effectiveness of teaching strategies, curriculum and other interventions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. Drive the vision for assessments, Monitor and coordinate internal assessments; Collect, analyze and evaluate assessment data; Work with instructional leaders to train teachers on the use of data to differentiate and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching strategies; Track accountability data, including CCMR, graduation rates, and dropout rate data; Prepare reports for regulators, partners, school leaders and K12; Provide inputs on school improvement plans; Train staff on updates to accountability or assessment changes that would impact accountability. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibility. MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in business, Statistics or Education AND Five (5) years of experience coordinating a school assessment program OR Equivalent combination of education and experience Certificates and Licenses: None required. OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Thorough understanding of Texas School Accountability Framework Familiarity with state testing requirements and protocols Very strong organizational and time management skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) Advanced MS Excel skills Strong technology skills Experience using a student information system and/or other type of database Ability to travel up to 20% of the time as needed Ability to clear required background check DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience managing databases Experience with advanced data analysis tools Experience with large school/district Accountability data Experience working with cross-functional teams WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
