This role is responsible for defining and driving data governance within the Finance organization. The preferred candidate will be subject-matter experts in the Finance domain. They will work closely with leaders and process owners within Finance to enable the implementation of data policies and standards.

  • Drive vision and strategy for elevating data as a critical enterprise asset

  • Partner across finance teams and cross-functional teams to align on required metrics, standard definitions, appropriate data use cases, and identification of subject matter experts.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with finance and technical teams to drive engagement and enthusiasm for data quality standards.

  • Become finance partner for data & metric definition consistency across ServiceNow

  • Partner in the development and enhancement of financial data quality metrics

  • Manage the monitoring and enforcement of data governance policies (e.g., access, classification, quality, and storage/retention policies

  • Develop and maintain broad knowledge of financial applications that generate, transform, store, or serve data

  • Develop strategies and intelligent automation to ensure that data are captured correctly at source. Maintains data lineage and transformation rules across systems.

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary of key Finance data attributes along with definitions and calculation logic.

  • Work with various technical and finance teams to understand and document data quality issues and implement strategies for mitigating.

  • Act as an evangelist across finance, driving appropriate use of data for informed decision-making

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, computer science, data analytics or related fields from a four-year university.

  • 12+ years of industry experience including 5+ years' experience driving data strategy within large, complex enviornments.

  • Strong understanding of Finance domain, preferably in a SaaS or PaaS company or business unit (not required)

  • Ability to drive data stewardship practices related to Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Integration, and Data Security, and Data Analysis.  

  • Knowledge of how data is captured, processed, or stored in software applications.

  • The ability to make trade-off decisions between possible, desirable, and viable, which requires a good sense of what is feasible.

  • Strong prioritization skills and the discipline to focus on high-impact activities. You must be good at articulating how prioritized initiatives will benefit stakeholders across the company.

  • Ability to influence and drive effective communication across all levels.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills

  • Enjoys working in a highly collaborative environment.

FD21

For positions in California (outside of the Bay Area), we offer a base pay of $140,000 - $245,200, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location. For individuals who will be working in the Bay Area, there is a pay enhancement for positions located in that geographical area; please contact your recruiter for additional information.
