CNC MACHINIST

Empirical Systems Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a CNC Machinist to work along side our CNC Programmer. ESAero is a growing aerospace company in the San Luis Obispo area and provides various services which include but are not limited to: rapid system development, on-demand niche engineering, hands-on development/testing, and small UAS aerospace system manufacturing.  

**This position is fully on-site at Empirical System's Aerospace in San Luis Obispo, CA 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain machine shop equipment

• Set up and operate CNC and manual machines per documentation

• Prepare stock

• Enter data into digital travellers

• Assist in managing inventory of consumables

• Utilize machining tools to modify and create parts

• Provide hands-on support to other shop operations as needed

  Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Proficiency and experience with machining tools and operations such as lathes, mills, drill press, and bandsaw.

• CNC setup and operation experience, including 3-axis and 5-axis mills.

• Ability to simultaneously monitor multiple CNC machines

• Demonstrated foundation in GD&T

• Technical hands-on capability with attention to detail. Including parts fabrication, assembly, and general shop work/maintenance

• Ability to use basic precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and gauges.

• 3+ years of experience

  Desired Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience with parts and Inventory Management

• CAD/CAM experience

• Experience with CNC pallet changers

• Ability to design fixturing
