Job Overview:

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments to vendors and suppliers. The Accounts Payable Clerk will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth operation of our organization's financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process incoming invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents to verify pricing, quantity, and terms of payment.

• Review expense reports and employee reimbursements, verifying supporting documentation and compliance with company policies.

• Code and enter invoices into the accounting system with careful attention to accuracy and proper general ledger coding.

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Prepare and process weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc payments via check, ACH, and wire transfer, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement.

• Assist in month-end closing activities, including accruals, account reconciliations, and analysis of accounts payable aging.

• Communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues and inquiries.

• Maintain organized electronic and physical records of invoices, payments, and supporting documentation.

• Collaborate with other members of the finance team to improve processes, streamline workflow, and enhance overall efficiency.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

• Proven experience working in accounts payable or a similar financial role.

• Strong proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service-oriented mindset.

• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly related to accounts payable processes and procedures.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with automated accounts payable systems and electronic invoice processing.

• Experience with process improvement initiatives and implementing best practices.

• Understanding of sales and use tax regulations and compliance requirements.

• Certification (e.g., CAPA, CPP) or coursework in accounts payable or accounting-related field.
