In this role, you will get a chance to maintain and repair traffic signalized lights, streetlights, pedestrian crossing apparatus, radar speed signs, and all components related to the operation and maintenance of the lighting system. • Install, maintain, and repair: street lights, traffic signals, aerial traffic signal equipment, and remote traffic count equipment.

• Perform traffic signal controller cabinet maintenance and cleaning.

• Repair and replace vehicle detectors & pedestrian detectors.

• Install, maintain & test video equipment used to monitor traffic and detect vehicles.

• Perform and test traffic signal controllers.

• Install, maintain, repair, and operate all types of school flashers, pedestrian crossing apparatus, illuminated and non-illuminated aerial signs, and various types of electronic equipment.

• Test, services/repairs fiber optic and copper cable communication circuits.

• Set up work zone traffic control (MOT/TTC).

Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. On-Call Required.

About You

Minimum Qualifications:

• A High school diploma or its equivalent.

• Two (2) years experience as an electrician or similar field.

• A Valid Florida driver's license at the time of hire.

• A "CDL" Class B license or the ability to obtain within six (6) months from the date of hire.

• Must be able to obtain an IMSA Signal Level I certification within one year of hire and IMSA Signal Level II within three (3) years of hire.

Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
