MOFFATT & NICHOL Coastal Engineer - Mid to Senior Level in Seattle, Washington

We are actively looking for a Coastal Engineer with 10+ years of experience to join our Seattle office. As the successful hire, you will work closely with the local Washington based team as well as with the broader Moffatt & Nichol team via our highly successful interoffice staff utilization program. Directs, manages, and designs construction projects by studying project concept, architectural drawings, and models Directs, manages, and prepares engineering design by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, aerial photographs, and tests on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data Directs the analysis of project costs by calculating labor, material, and related costs Creates feasibility study by analyzing engineering design, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data Manages the development of construction specifications, plans, and schedules to produce engineering documents Researches and assists in complying with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions Successfully supports ongoing Coastal / Water practice through contacts and business development efforts Other duties: Please note this job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Coastal Engineering or related; required Master's degree Coastal Engineering; preferred 10+ years of related experience; required GIS proficiency a strong plus Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) Availability and willingness to travel All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171 Moffatt & Nichol uses E-Verify and employment is contingent upon the legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and to present the required documentation at hire Base salary range: $131,400 to $160,600 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.
