Description DEPARTMENT: SEATTLE TEMPLE POSITION TITLE: Food Bank Coordinator COMPENSATION: $23 (Hourly) STATUS: NON-EXEMPT/REGULAR FULL TIME THE SALVATION ARMY MISSION: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. SCOPE OF POSITION: The Food Bank Coordinator is responsible for collecting, organizing, and distributing food for the Greenwood Foodbank. The coordinator will also create and submit reports associated with, but not limited to statistical reports for TSA and Family Works, GIK Reports, etc. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Coordinate the operation of the Greenwood Food Resource Center The Food Bank Coordinator is responsible for collecting, receiving, and storing donations to be used for the Greenwood Food Resource Center. Record and report the details of donations and make these donations available to clients on a weekly basis. (Currently two days a week) Setup and tear down of the food bank space. Ensure that all health code procedures and stipulations are adhered to strictly. Maintain a valid WA Food Handler Safety Card. Required stats reports will be submitted in a timely fashion by the Food Bank Coordinator. Record and keep up to date any client information in WellSky. Submit required reports to agencies including, but not limited to: FamilyWorks and Food Lifeline Work closely with the Social Services Coordinator and Corps Officers to ensure that all aspects of the job are being met. Work directly with Family Works, Food Lifeline, and any other food agency to ensure that the food bank is stocked with food for distribution days. Maintains food pantry inventory by placing orders with vendors as well as purchasing food and non-food items from local stores. Operate within the budget established by the Social Services Coordinator Create and foster new relationships with local grocery stores and other potential food donors with the goal of receiving food donations. Recruit, coordinate, and train volunteers to assist with food pickup and food bank operations. Maintain volunteer files for food bank volunteers. Assist with seasonal food drives and distributions. All other duties as assigned. EQUIPMENT USED: PC Workstation/Laptop computer Bar code scanner Photocopier/scanner Weight scale Storage equipment EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Highschool Diploma or GED Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid WA State Driver's License Minimum one-year employment experience REQUIRED SKILLS: COMPUTER: A working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets is necessary for correspondence and record keeping. ORGANIZATION: The ability to prioritize multiple projects. Excellent communication skills. Attention to detail. PROFESSIONAL: The ability to present oneself in a professional manner and maintain confidentiality and sensitivity in matters relating to client services. Good interpersonal and communication skills are necessary. PERSONAL: The ability to interact with coworkers, clients and the general public in a positive manner. The ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances. CONFIDENTIALITY: The ability to maintain the integrity of information on each client, only sharing what is necessary with those who need to know.
