The Books team is looking for a Senior Product Manager-Tech to own the strategy and execution of how we detect and prevent fraud, leveraging Machine Learning Models. In this role, you will be responsible for driving product from concept to execution and working cross-functionally to ensure delivery of your roadmap with partners across engineering, science, business intelligence, policy and operations. Your work will have a tangible impact on our external and internal customers. The successful candidate is passionate about fraud prevention and not constrained by what exists today. She or he must have proven experience diving deep to create innovative and effective solutions, the ability to ruthlessly prioritize, and skill in juggling a variety of deliverables while both simultaneously staying connected to the details and thinking strategically.

Key job responsibilities

• Working backwards from anecdotes and data to define and document features, requirements, and measures of success for your products.

• Owning the vision for a suite of ML-driven products including managing communication and driving decisions across stakeholders, Sr. leadership, policy, science and engineering.

• Setting and communicating a clear roadmap and direction in partnership with engineering, science, policy, and operations teams.

• Identifying and highlighting key risks, tradeoffs and prioritization calls that balance delivery against risks and cost.

• Managing communication and driving decisions across stakeholders and leadership.

A day in the life

In this role, you will be responsible for defining and managing a roadmap and driving product from concept to execution. You will work cross-functionally to ensure delivery with partners across engineering, science, business intelligence, policy and operations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience owning feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience managing technical products or online services

  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

  • Experience bridging technical and business teams to collect and refine requirements, prioritize incoming work requests, and ensure all committed work is delivered on time

  • Experience with end to end product delivery

  • Experience developing and delivering an ML-driven roadmap.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA

  • Master's degree

  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight

  • Experience performing statistical analysis of data using SQL, Excel and other tools

  • Experience in an operational environment developing, fast-prototyping, piloting and launching analytic products

  • Experience in technical product management, program management or engineering

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
