Job Description ObjectiveLabVantage Solutions is an industry leading provider of laboratory software products. Our products enable scientist and analysts across the global to develop novel solutions, work effectively, and meet regulatory compliance. Some examples of environments that use our products include pharmaceutical/biotechnology companies developing therapies, drugs, and vaccines; environmental laboratory testing water quality; and food and beverage companies developing new products and verifying products meet required standards.This position is key role in the definition and development of the LabVantage Solutions software products. The individual that fills this role will be responsible for leading a group of product owners as well as defining functional requirements based on customer and market needs, helping to prioritize requirements, and closely working with Software Engineers, Test Engineers, and Technical Writers on the implementation of requirements. Strong candidates for this role will have a solid understanding of laboratory needs and processes, a background in software requirements, and extensive experience with laboratory software which includes Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN), Laboratory Execution Systems (LES), and Scientific Data Management Systems (SDMS). It is essentially that the individual filling this role has excellent communication and collaboration skills. A background in working as part of a global team is beneficial.Primary Job ObjectivesThe table below summarizes the primary duties/responsibilities for this position which describes the expected allotted time over an extended period for the areas supported by their importance as well as their descriptions.20%-Mentor and coach Product Owners and other members of the product management team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.-Align product strategies with overall business objectives.-Provide strategic guidance to Product Owners in roadmap planning.25%-Lead the prioritization across multiple products, balancing competing priorities and maximizing the value delivered to customers.-Engaging with customers to understand their needs. This can include managing customer focus groups.-Translating customer and market needs into requirements.-Creating, prioritizing, and refining the product backlog.45%-Working with Software Engineers, Test Engineers, and Technical Writers on the design and implementation of requirements.10%-Educating internal stakeholders on new product features and capabilities through Sprint Demonstrations and internal webinars.-Engaging with R&D, Professional Services, Support, and Quality to address customer needs and escalations.Job Qualifications Necessary: A master’s degree in a computer science/engineering or equivalent technology experience 10+ years of experience as a direct manager of technical staff 15+ years in delivering software products. Solid track record of successful work with cross-functional teams Direct experience with major cloud hosting platforms, preferred. Direct experience in delivering SaaS products, preferred. Experience working machine learning, analytics, artificial intelligence, and large language models, preferred Experience working in quality management systems that support ISO9001 and ISO27001, preferred Hands on experience in laboratory workflow and operations, preferred Direct experience in delivering Enterprise Laboratory software products, preferred Working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include PowerPoint, Word, and Excel Willingness to travel as much as 20% of the time to possibly include international trips Experience working with a geographically distributed team including in different countries/time zones is a plus Capable of clearly articulating technical concepts to a variety of audiences This role requires excellent communication and “sales” capabilities, with frequent exposure to large and senior audiences around the company and externally in industry forums (conferences, speaking engagements).
