Providence St. Joseph Health Program Director - Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Spokane, Washington

Description The Program Director position is accountable for the outcomes of specified Service Line programs to ensure efficient, high quality, coordinated, and patient-focused care across all settings. The position builds relationships resulting in compassionate care and committed teams across the delivery system and with all stakeholders. Work is completed with a thorough understanding of and commitment to the Providence Core Values and Leadership Model. This position will be an integral part of the Health Care Delivery Network team and will actively collaborate with other PHS Divisions/Teams to achieve desired outcomes for the whole organization. In collaboration with the Executive Director of Service Lines, this Service Line position will make decisions affecting strategy, implementation and management of resources. In partnership with physician leaders, this position will be accountable for development and execution of the strategy and oversight of performance. This position has oversight & leadership for the largest 'service area' Orthopedics & Sports Medicine (O&SM) program in all of Providence (4th largest health care system in US). Spokane has the largest orthopedic trauma program of the 51 hospitals in Providence located at Sacred Heart Medical Center (Level II Trauma Center with Level I orthopedic care) and one of the largest total joint replacement programs between Sacred Heart Medical Center & Holy Family Hospital. The Spokane Providence Medical Group has the largest employed orthopedics & sports medicine practice in Providence with 17 fellowship trained physicians (13 orthopedic surgeons & 4 primary care sports medicine physicians) and covers all orthopedic specialties. This position leads one of the largest integrated sports medicine programs in all of Providence to include contractual MD relationships with local high schools, the Community Colleges of Spokane, the Spokane Indians, Whitworth College, and Gonzaga Athletics. Essential Functions Actively supports and incorporates the mission and core values into daily activities. Demonstrates service excellence and positive interpersonal relations in working with others, including patients/families/members, employees, managers, medical staff, volunteers and community members, so that productivity and positive relations are maximized. Provide leadership for strategic planning, clinical excellence, fiscal accountability, patient satisfaction, operational effectiveness and positive relationships with other departments, members of the medical staff, physician practices and all stakeholders within the scope and span of control. Partner with employed and independent medical staff to ensure the presence of an on-going quality improvement program by providing leadership for patient safety, quality improvement, service excellence, physician satisfaction and program growth and development. Develop and maintain productive working relationships with all key constituencies inside and outside of the organization. Collaborate with Providence physicians and other aligned physicians to develop systems of care to meet the service lines needs in the region. Engage physician leadership in the planning, development, implementation and monitoring of program goals and objectives across the integrated system and with key physician groups in the market. Develops measurements to track and report processes and outcomes.
