AEM, Inc. .Net Programmer Analyst in Springfield, Virginia

POSITION SUMMARY Create, modify, and test the code, forms, and script that allow computer applications to run. Work from specifications drawn up by software developers or other individuals. May assist software developers by analyzing user needs and designing software solutions. May develop and write computer programs to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data, and information.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Works as a member of the software development team to develop software for the organization, including custom ASP/.Net applications and Windows Forms using C#.
  • Participates in the definition, interpretation, and documentation of business and technical requirements.
  • Codes software to standard, utilizing a variety of programming tools.
  • Participates in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, from design to implementation and evaluation.
  • Works with management to define system and company technology vision.
  • Provides leadership in the creation and maintenance of methodologies, standards and guidelines impacting application development.
  • Mentors junior programmers.
  • Provides application support.
  • Provides time estimates, project plans and reporting.
  • Collaborates with and assists all members of the development team.
  • Reviews code/solutions developed by in-house and outside developers.
  • Helps to define technical architecture.
  • Insures integrity of new development within existing applications.
  • Insures adequate documentation for department processes.
  • Verifies proper control of all source code.
  • Performs database administration tasks such as preparing backup plans and assigning database -level permissions and investigate technical problems.

SKILLS and ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school) or Work Equivalent, Field of Study: Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS

Experience: 4 plus years of experience in .Net development with a focus on ASP.NET and Windows Forms using C#. 6 plus years of experience in overall software development. * Database design and development in MS SQL Server.

Other Requirements: Preferred Qualifications: Experience with system integration and data exchange.

Microsoft certifications in .Net technologies.

Experience in the Transportation industry.

System conversion/Implementation experience.

Experience with SQL Reporting Services.
