Ecolab Inc Lead Electrical Engineer in St. Paul, Minnesota

The selected candidate will be responsible for programming automation and controls systems involving PLCs (programmable logic controllers) and remote computing systems. What's in it For You: Designing and developing PLC & HMI Software for new control systems Analyzing data and presenting findings in written reports and real-time databases Working collaboratively with electrical engineers, process engineers and staff Liaising with customers, suppliers and contractors Assisting in the development of new business proposals What You Will Do: PLC Programming, including onsite and online support Provide remote/telephone support for customers out of town Travel on an as-needed basis to support customers on-site - 30-50% Maintaining and modifying existing systems Work collaboratively with digital support, engineers, operations, and other internal staff Troubleshooting and problem-solving machines and equipment Understanding and ensuring compliance with the health and safety regulations Help in Specifying equipment for procurement Participate in machinery installation, repair, and maintenance Support other departments in the resolution of quality and productivity issues. Minimum Qualifications: Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Minimum of 7-10 years of electrical engineering & PLC programming (Beckhoff Controllers) Advanced process understanding ability, must be comfortable not only reading schematics, prints, and CAD, comfortable explaining to other team members how to use process docs. Demonstrated ability to work independently, driving design work to completion and troubleshooting and solving challenging technical problems Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline Setting up industrial communication such as Devicenet, Ethernet. Design and develop electrical prints using solidworks electrical software. The selected candidate will be responsible for programming automation and controls systems involving PLCs (programmable logic controllers) and remote computing systems. The selected candidate must have proven experience in PLC logic and programming with Beckhoff and Allen Bradley PLCs. They must be able to create and read logic and electrical diagrams for troubleshooting automation systems, programming, simulation and testing, and start-up.
