In this position...

  • We seek forward-thinking professionals to join our team working on advanced electronic modules for next-generation vehicles

  • The successful candidate will work with the design team to develop innovative new technologies from concept to production

  • You will deliver designs that meet quality, schedule, and cost targets.

What you'll do...

  • Design of mixed circuit/signal printed circuit boards using fine pitch and ball grid array integrated circuits and large through hole partsAuthor cost optimization panelization studies

  • Propose stackup aligned with design and cost efficiency

  • Familiarity with PCB fabrication, design for manufacturing techniques for high volume designs.

  • Work with Mentor Xpedition Enterprise PCB layout tools and schematic capture

  • Proficient in multi-GHz, High-Speed Board layout of Through-Hole, HDI and ELIC PCB's

  • Take PCB layout through to completion of board files, generation of BOMs and upload to PLM.

  • Have a good understanding of the PCB layout process and IPC Standards

  • Stay up to date with PCB Materials, PCB Fabrication guidelines

  • Tracks bareboard compliance to performance and reliability requirements

  • Review, document and handle root cause and resolutions of PCB fabrication FAI's and DFM's

  • Collaborate with suppliers on DFM and DFA requirements and fabrication tools

  • Assist in the creation of the ECAD component library parts

  • Able to write technical specifications and instructions

  • Generate documentation that drives improvements to the design process or procedures

  • Understand schedule impact to extended work hours in peak release design time

  • Handle several designs in parallel in a team environment

  • Be liable and accountable for on-time and on-quality PCB CAD releases

  • Design experiments and analyze raw data using Statistical analytic methods

  • Arrange and participate in layout design reviews

  • Interface closely with other Engineering Disciplines

  • Work closely with PCB fabrication and PCB assembly suppliers

  • Willing to travel occasionally to support PCB Design, Assembly, and Fabrication efforts

You'll have...

  • Associates Degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience

  • This position does not support sponsorship

  • 3+ years of experience designing High Speed Digital Circuit Boards

  • 3+ years of experience with PCB CAD Design (e.g. Through-Hole, HDI, ELIC PCB's)

  • Must be willing to travel occasionally to support PCB Design, Assembly, and Fabrication efforts.

  • If you live less than 50 miles from the location, then you must be onsite at least 3 days per week.

Even better, you may have…

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience designing High-Speed Digital Circuit Boards

  • 5+ years of experience with PCB CAD Design (e.g. Through-Hole, HDI, ELIC PCB's)

  • Expert knowledge with PCB Design tools (e.g. Mentor Xpedition, Fablink, ValorNPI, etc.)

  • Familiar with route protocols for DDR, RF circuit/antenna, Ethernet, diff pair, PCIE

  • Familiar with design of experiments and statistical analytic methods

  • ECAD Librarian Experience

  • Knowledge of software tools (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Polar Simulation, Minitab, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of automotive industry standard

  • Proficient with simulation tools for impedance and stackup planning.

  • Able to write scripts to perform automation or time saver improvements to the design tool environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Motivated and self-starter

  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with business users and engineering professionals (e.g. globally distributed teams, ability to adjust communications appropriately for the audience, work with all levels of management and diverse work groups, etc.)

This position is a range of salary grades GSR6 - GSR8
