A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN AT DWT:

On a typical day, you will assemble, install and integrate mechanical components into aerospace/defense systems following blueprints, technical manuals and engineering specifications. Thorough inspection and testing are conducted of mechanical equipment to identify defects, malfunctions or wear and tear. If problems arise, you may diagnose complex mechanical issues and implement efficient solutions including performing maintenance, repair, or calibration to meet precise specifications and operational requirements. This role requires you to maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities, ensuring compliance with documentation standards and military procedures. You'll collaborate with engineers and provide technical support, training, and guidance to junior technicians and staff.All DWT employees are required to adhere to safety protocols and regulations to guarantee the highest level of safety for military personnel and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required, with additional vocational or technical training in aerospace or defense mechanics.
  • Prior experience as a Mechanical Technician in the aerospace or defense industry desired.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace and military defense systems, components, and technologies.
  • Proficiency in reading technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to precision and quality.
