Gorbel Inc. Packing Auditor 2nd Shift in Victor, New York

The Packing Auditor is responsible for conducting the inspection of packing jobs for quality and conformance to specifications of all orders prior to shipment for correct contents as listed on issued packing lists, including markings, labels, and appropriate packing materials. The Packing Auditor will pack and wrap containers, band, and tie products and materials in preparation for shipment.RESPONSIBILITIES: Inspect packing jobs for completeness and quality; ensure job orders conform to packing lists Audit material counts to ensure the required amount of material is prepared for shipment Ensure packing lists correspond with job numbers Ensure material quality and cleanliness prior to packaging; examine parts to screen for and replace broken items Arrange for touch-up painting of parts as needed Ensure orders are packed in observance of shipping schedules Ensure packed materials which occasionally exceed carrying weight (50lbs) are placed on a pallet Establish and document packing procedures and implement process improvements Complete the audit log for all orders Assist packers as needed Perform related duties as requiredREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Basic mathematics skills User experience with MS Excel Use basic hand tools requiring physical dexterity and mobility Wear protective gloves, glasses, boots, and other protective equipment as required Handles pallet truck for loads exceeding carrying weight Occasionally lift, carry, or push weights up to 50lbs Occasionally climbs ladders to heights up to 20 feet to store and retrieve material Verbal and written communication skills Gorbel® is an Equal Opportunity Employer that does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, creed, color, religion, alienage or national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, disability or handicap, gender, gender identity, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, arrest record, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local laws. At Gorbel, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is Min $16.75 - Max $25.13
