We are seeking a Quality Systems Engineer to join our Corporate Quality team at our Global HQ in Waukesha, WI!

The Quality System Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing quality control systems to ensure that products and processes conform to established Generac standards. This position works closely with cross-functional teams to develop and improve quality processes and procedures and is responsible for identifying areas where improvements can be made. The role will also conduct auditing of processes to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards, such as ISO requirements. Additionally, the Quality System Engineer analyzes quality data to identify trends and opportunities for improvements and works on the development and maintenance of quality software, documentation and training programs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the Generac Quality Management System (GQMS) is maintained and adhered to by providing guidance and support to cross-functional teams.

  • Establish and maintain quality control systems to ensure that products and processes conform to Generac standards.

  • Analyze quality data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Develop and improve quality control processes and procedures in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

  • Configure QMS software parameters and modules to support system continuous improvement and maturity.

  • Develop and maintain quality documentation and training programs, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, and quality manuals.

  • Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with internal and ISO requirements.

  • Deploy standard tools, methodologies, practices & processes;

  • Promote a continuous improvement environment.

Minimal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field;

  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality systems use, development, and maturity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)

  • ISO 9001 auditing experience;

  • Experience using continuous improvement tool set;

  • Familiarity with Python, Javascript or similar

  • Previous configuration experience using ETQ or Compliance Quest eQMS software

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to collaboratively work with teams to drive improvements;

  • Ability to successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast paced environment

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills;

  • Demonstrated skills working in QMS software platforms and developing configuration changes.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills;

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SAP business systems;

  • Knowledge of Lean principals & improvements.

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
