Description:
Under supervision, posts physicians services and professional fees into general computer system. Coordinates work in area of responsibility. Acts as a resource to coworkers and manager.
What you'll do:
· Acts as a liason with Billing staff to include, Office, Hospital and Tech Services.
· Coordinates and performs QA on EMR product rollouts with IS Department.
· Manages work group insurance denials.
· Compiles, codes and posts professional charges.
· Researches medical records to compile missing information of procedures performed.
· Oversees flow of work in area of responsibility.
· Works with department manager to enhance work flow and procedures.
· Codes and bills hospital procedures on an as needed basis.
· Imports and verifies office based charges
· Acts as a resource to office staff for billing questions.
· Assesses hospital computer to verify insurance and demographic information.
· Opens new accounts.
· Performs other related work as required.
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Computer experience required.
· Medical terminology preferred.
· Prior CPT/ICD9 or insurance experienced preferred.
· Coding certification required within 6 months of hire (CPC, ACS-CA, SCP-CA).
· Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training for child and dependent adult abuse within three (3) months of hire.
· Clinical background preferred.
