RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Schedule the most effective and cost-efficient daily delivery of poults from Headstart and Detroit Lakes hatcheries.

• Communicate with Farms and Hatcheries on Loading and Delivery Times and equipment and other potential issues. Work with scheduling to generate best possible delivery schedule. Be creative and innovative by generating new ideas and procedures for transportation. )

• Hire/train/direct/lead/coach truck drivers on daily activities. Ensure all drivers are following and implementing company policies and procedures, including biosecurity.

• Maintain fleet of poult trucks managing all repairs and costs associated with the trucks.

• Responsible for overseeing the cleaning of trucks to provide salmonella free results and quality poults.

• Be able to keep accurate records and provide information as needed, including but not limited to completing all required reports for USDA, NPIP, Hormel, and other hatchery customers.

• Work with hatchery manager to manage egg inventory between hatcheries and daily deliveries.

• Provide proper and effective communication with the hatchery manager and Contract Hatchery to keep all parties informed of issues and conditions with trucks and deliveries.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent logistics, or supervisory experience.

• Demonstrated pattern of initiative and leadership.

• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Must either possess Class A CDL license or have the ability and eligibility to obtain license within first year in role.

• Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.
