PRODUCT ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION *BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION: Work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product. Team assemblers can perform all tasks conducted by the team in the assembly process and rotate through all or most of them rather than being assigned to a specific task on a permanent basis.   • Learn all parts and components.
  • Familiarize yourself with the tools and equipment.
  • Determine if all parts are present and order parts for upcoming jobs.
  • Assemble components accurately and quickly to approved specifications.
  • Double check electrical connections to ensure proper fit.
  • Solve assembly and production issues.
  • Hi-Pot and wattage check all units and make sure all components function properly.
  • Program settings for ovens
  • Ensure proper functioning of motors, fans etc. according to program.
  • Be able to follow directions from Supervisor.
  • Work as part of a team in order to accomplish the task at hand.
  • Learn the Kanban system.
  • Must be self motivated.
  • Perform tasks in other departments as needed.

Product Assembly Technician qualifications and skills:

  • Previous experience in factory environment
  • Experience in general assembly work or specialized training preferred.
  • Ability to commit to schedule and prompt arrival for shifts.
  • Experience with power and hand tools a plus
  • Basic math and communication skills required.
