Responsibilities:

  • Lead in CMM programming, measurement, and training.
  • Program, setup, and properly run the CMM to assure compliance provide data for feedback on parts.
  • Participate in other Quality Tech key responsibilities including but not limited to gage calibration and certification, supplied product certification and records, ERP goods movement.
  • Program, setup, and properly run instant measurement systems.
  • Train operators to use CMM appropriately.
  • Conduct capability study inspections in co-ordination with Quality and Engineering
  • Create comprehensive analysis and reports resulting from product inspection.
  • Conduct receiving inspection and reporting according to established work instructions and schedule.
  • Conduct first off (PPAP) product inspections and reporting, according to established work instructions and schedule
  • Review and correlate supplier certifications and capability results to inspection requirements.
  • Assist Quality Engineers in conducting trouble shooting inspections for corrective actions and root cause analysis.
  • Final product and packaging inspection as needed.
  • Support process auditing as needed.
  • Recommend new gaging and inspection techniques/solutions as needed.

Requirements/Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five years of machining and/or inspection experience
  • Training certification from major CMM manufacturer, Zeiss Calypso software preferred
  • Experience with micrometers, calipers, height gage, optical comparator, and other test equipment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong GD&T and blueprint reading skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to work independent of others
  • Excellent written and math skills for analysis report creation
  • SAP experience a plus

Language:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, general business periodicals, professional journals, and governmental regulations. Ability with writing reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to managers, clients, customers, suppliers, the general public and satellite locations.*                     *

Reasoning Ability:

Ability in solving problems that deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
